On August 28th, the Cupertino Little League had the honor of welcoming the 2025 Little League World Series Champions to our city. The winning team, representing Chinese Taipei, won victory just a few days prior on August 24th, 2025 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Since the team happened to be passing through Cupertino, many of our Little League families jumped at the opportunity to congratulate them in person.

Fans waited patiently for over an hour as the team made its way through heavy traffic from San Francisco. When the bus finally arrived, cheers erupted as players and coaches emerged from the vehicle. Despite their very lengthy trip, the Chinese Taipei team was incredibly gracious, signing our kids’ baseballs and taking multiple photos.

The Cupertino Little League was joined by Cupertino Mayor Liang Chao, who is Taiwanese and happens to be an avid fan of the Little League. “I still remember waking up in the middle of the night as a kid to watch Little League games broadcast via satellite,” says Chao. She wrote a special proclamation commemorating the Chinese Taipei team’s first victory in 29 years, and also honoring the baseball’s strong roots in the Cupertino community.

Mayor Liang Chao’s proclamations to the Little League World Series champions

It isn’t every year (or even decade!) that the Little League World Series champions make a public appearance in Cupertino. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet them in person, and inspired for our upcoming fall season.
