Everyone at Cupertino Little League is thrilled to congratulate former CNLL and CLL player John Damozonio and his family (including former CLL president Steve Damozonio) on being drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft!
John’s journey started on the fields of Cupertino National Little League and is an inspiration to every young player in our league. Through years of hard work, dedication, and a passion for the game, he has earned the opportunity to take the next step toward realizing his dream of playing in the Major Leagues.
John delivered an outstanding senior season at Saint Mary’s College. His accomplishments include:
– 2026 West Coast Conference (WCC) All-Tournament Team
– 2026 All-Conference First Team
– 2026 Saint Mary’s George R. McKeon Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, recognizing him as the college’s top male student-athlete
– College Baseball National Pitcher of the Year Semifinalist
John also delivered one of the most memorable performances of the season when he took the mound against the nation’s No. 1-ranked UCLA Bruins, showcasing the poise, competitiveness, and talent that caught the attention of Major League scouts.
While we’re incredibly proud of John’s achievements on the field, we’re equally proud of the person he has become. His commitment to excellence in both athletics and academics embodies the values that Cupertino Little League strives to instill in every player: teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, and respect.
John’s success serves as a reminder that every baseball journey begins somewhere. For him, it began right here in Cupertino, wearing a Little League uniform and learning the fundamentals of the game alongside teammates and coaches who helped foster his love of baseball.
