Cupertino Little League Hit-a-thon

Cupertino Little League is organizing a Hit-a-thon during Opening Day on 2/28.

But what is a Hit-a-thon? A hit-a-thon is a FUNdraiser for all players in the Farm AA, Minors and Majors divisions.

For every $10 raised, players will receive one pitch on Opening Day. For example, if a player raises $90, they will have 9 chances at hitting as far as possible.

Which team is leading the fundraiser?

Take a look at the FUNdraiser page to see which team is leading in fundraising!

Hitting Criteria

Depending on how they hit, they will receive a certain score per pitch:

  • no hit/foul ball = 0 point
  • grounder in the infield grass = 1 point
  • ball lands in the dirt = 2 points
  • short outfield hit (until half of the outfield) = 3 points
  • long outfield hit (second half of the outfield) = 5 points
  • if the ball makes contact with the fence = 10 points
  • over the fence = 20 points

Number of pitches

If a player raises more than $100, they will receive only 10 pitches, but will have the option to give pitches to their teammates! For example: if players raise $150, they will receive 10 pitches but will be able to give 5 more pitches to someone in their team who raised only $50.

Winners

Players will be ranked according to the total number of points they score. The winners in Minors and Majors will receive a gift card for a summer camp from our sponsor Legends (worth $650!). The three first places in Farm AA will receive each one hour of private lessons at Diamond Training and Development in Sunnyvale! There will also be tickets for games of the San Jose Giants and Santa Clara University Broncos! Finally, there will even be awards for the teams that scored the most points and for the team that raised the most money!
